Earning a degree in classics is a great way to get a general humanities education.  Employers want to hire imaginative and creative people who can understand and explain concepts and abstractions and who are good writers and close readers - just the skills students develop while studying classics.

In recent years, KU classics majors have gone on to become teachers and professors not just in classics but in related fields such as history and comparative literature.  Many have also gone on to law school and medical school.

The Classical Antiquity major in particular prepares students to do graduate work in ancient art, ancient history, classical civilization, or archaeology.
